Summer Youth S.T.E.M. Outreach in the District of Columbia

The Carver and Langston neighborhoods are just 5 blocks from our nation’s capitol but remains one of D.C.’s neighborhoods less known for their historic namesakes than the need for economic development and other community services.
We are working to inspire positive change in the neighborhood through an educational and community-oriented STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) outreach program for children in the 3rd to 8th grades.
Our project runs through the summer of 2015 on Saturdays from 10a.m. until noon – usually near the Safeway at Hechinger Mall on Maryland and 17th NE.

We’re in the process of developing partnerships with the 5th Precinct Police, the DC Mayor’s Office, the 5th Ward ANC and other local government organizations and faith-based organizations in order to make a difference in the lives of area youth and make the community a better place to live and “Grow what you Know”.
